Jerry Argo, CTR2 USN, 1954-1957 Have enjoyed so much the CT saga's. Mine began, I think. when as a young boy attending the Saturday matinee's at the Yale theater in my home town of Okmulgee, Oklahoma. John Winslow serial opened with a line of battleships heading into the wind which was enthralling to me. Then in high school my best friend and I discovered a love for the Navy. We made plans to join together after graduation but circumstances prevented. Gene schooled at Norman, Oklahoma as Aviation Electronics Technician. Vaguely remember the interview and cataloguing my work history while in Boot camp but no question asked about what I wanted to be. The radio test, as several have noted, must have been instrumental in assignment to R school at Imperial Beach. The 3 character test was made fun of by many. I heard several guys admit to tanking the test and say "I don't want to be no radioman." High school typewriting class must have helped me as well. The life long friends made have made it all worth while. Jerry Argo CTR2 '54-'55 Boot camp/IB '55-'56 Cape Chiniak '56-'57 Bremerhaven
