Glenis Nelson, CTR3, 1970-1976 I was hoping to get into Photographic Intelligence or Aviation Machinist Mate Rating. I was approached one day and asked to come into an office. I was treated very different and the company commander was a little offish. They asked me if I would like to become a Communication Technician. They explained a lot that overwhelmed me. They told me I had to volunteer for the rating that it was a special rating. I was honored and felt like it was something that I would enjoy. The next few days were weird going through the interrogations for the top secret clearance. From there it is all history. I became a CTR and from there it is all history. The best job in the Navy.
