Yes Comments and highlights rom your tour of duty! I arrived from Corpus Christi Texas about 10pm. Had no idea where I was going. My orders just said NAVSECSTA. Noone I spoke to knew where that was. I had just $60 in my pocket when I arrived and I fly into the farthest Airport. Finally was able to share the cost of a limo with another lady, who knew where she was going. The driver dropped me off at a military base in Virginia. They knew where I was going and someone picked me up. I was then told not to report to work till Jan 2 (I think it was the 2nd), because of the Holidays. So I had no money and knew no one. I met a few other people that were housed on the same floor as me. Thank you to those that helped me survive till I got paid. ?? I was housed on the 3rd floor of the main building when I first arrived. I later moved to the top floor of another building (the building that the man who decided who was housed where was located at). He and I became friends after I found out I was pregnant from the man I had married just before arriving at NAVSECSTA. I use to go to his room and watch StarWars with him. I hope he reads this and remembers me. He watched my son while I was in the debriefing. He was a great friend to me. There was a few others that I hope read this and will get in touch with me. The anti-war demonstrations became violent and we wore civilian clothes to work for several weeks as our cars were having bricks thrown at them in Ward Circle and other places. Worked in the comm. center with a really great bunch of guys. Most of us were married and some had children. On our 80 hours off we would get together and play golf or cards. We formed a football team and a basketball team and actually played against students at American University. Could have been the brick throwers.
