John Eichmann, CTRCS, USNR (Ret) 1967-1989 When I made Seaman Apprentice, they asked me to join the SecGru and strike for CT. I thought I'd be a Lithographer, so I asked them what a CT did, and they said they couldn't tell me. Not wanting to make such an important decision without information, I wrote to my QM3 brother and asked his advice. He obviously didn't know either, because he never responded, so I joined the SecGru. Smartest thing I ever did. Later, I even had the opportunity to play LI by running a press a few times at NSGA Marietta. (For you young-uns, offset lithographic presses were used to produce printed pages before there were copy machines and laser printers.) Now I find it interesting that both LI and CTR are more or less obsolete, at least as far my involvement with the technology was concerned. John Eichmann, CTRCS, USNR (Ret)
