Ron Tregaskis, CTMC USN Retired, 19__-19__ For me, it was simple. Having already been in the Army during Viet Nam, I wanted something a little less stressful, something behind the lines so to speak. The Recruiter said my test scores were good enough that I could pick pretty much anything I wanted. I picked CTM and the Recruiter pretty well guaranteed, barring getting a clearance or failing out of school, that I would get it. Oddly enough, while in boot camp, part of my clearance investigation turned up with marijuana use. Believe it or not, the investigator put me in a darkened room with a bright desk lamp pointed right at me. He then started to question me about the purported marijuana use. When I told him that I had been working with the PA State Police as a volunteer to uncover drug pushers, naming the Lt in charge, he turned the light off and we talked like regular people. But he had me worried for a few seconds - they'd already removed three of my company for failing the urinalysis. Ron Tregaskis CTMC Ret.
