U. S. NAVAL RADIO STATION WINTER HARBOR, MAINE

I arrived at the NAVRADSTA the end of September 1955. The station is located in the
Acadia National park. After checking in and getting orientated, I was assigned to
Corea, Maine. This is a small sub-station, about 12 miles from the main base, where
we had the HFDF operations. Transportation was via a 'carryall'. Meals were sent
over from the main base in chow buckets for the day watch.
Must say I enjoyed my two years at Winter Harbor. Had to travel a bit to go anywhere,
but the poeple were great. They didn't have much, but they made you welcome.
